Ring, ring…

I am 80.

I started 2023 by commissioning Froggy Cyborg to create a piece of art for me. I had concepts in my head, and in partnership with his brilliance, we came up with the masterpiece below.

80 is balance.

My entire life, I’ve always been drawn toward yin/yang. Life is a struggle between the two polarities that push and pull us. The Lion represents my American life battling to take control of my Vietnamese ancestry. We see it as a battle, but as I’ve gone down this healing journey, it is a balance toward self-love.

The waves of the ocean can be scary, and the calmness of the water brings peace. In the absence of one, we can’t appreciate the other.

80 is me.

Over the course of my year+ in crypto/nft, I’ve assumed Chubbicorn80 as my PFP. When I came onboard into this space, everyone was running around with anon profiles, and as the market tanked, I’ve seen many assume their IRL profiles again. As I spend more time here, I realize that 80 is me. It’s more me than me. When I speak as 80, I speak as my true self. I am 80.

80 is you.

I first started writing my story as my IRL name. The story was only interesting to me. As I’ve assumed 80 as my true self, I realize that 80 isn’t just me. It’s you. It’s what we all can be, our truest self in finding our own 80. My journey is not your journey, but my love for you can light your way, and your love can light the way for others. Together, we are 80.

This newsletter will be letters from 80, that ultimately will go toward my book. You’re so early, and you’re here so I appreciate you. We’re going to heal together, and we’re going to grow together, and we’re going to thrive together.

PS: Wen roadmap?

I’ve learned that in life, you can’t control anything. I’m going to let go and let the winds and water take me where I need to be. Over time, it will reveal itself.
